Red Bull Music Academy Bass Camp Johannesburg

Music lovers across South Africa will be happy to know that theRed Bull Music Academy hit our shores recently with the purpose of unleashing Mzansi’s hottest talent and releasing them into the music industry.
Bass Camp is a miniature version of the travelling Red Bull Music Academy, and because they’re celebrating their 15th year anniversary, they decided to host a bass camp in Johannesburg. The academy picked a number of Mzansi’s hottest and up-and-coming young musicians (all different genres) and brought them to Johannesburg to be mentored by the previous generation of music pioneers, including Hugh Masekela andFrançois K . Bass Camp is a platform where these young artists’ raw talent is harnessed, polished and unleashed on the musicindustry.
The lectures were quite informative and released an air of excitement at the endless possibilities of creativity and innovation that the new generation of musicians have at their disposal. There are definitely great times ahead for musicians, especially in South Africa where innovation and boundary breaking is a constant occurrence.
